It's the Simple Things

About

Live Oak Cot is a single detached private unit located in the Uptown Historic District. This Craftsman is an extension of its mother home just next door, built in the early 1900s and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Embracing the New Orleans flair, the cottage was originally painted in pink with teal shutters and remained as such until a change of ownership in 2014.

The cottage was aptly named in admiration of the hundreds of magnificent live oak trees in the nearby Audubon Park and the surrounding neighborhood.

The New Vintage

Nowadays, the cot utilizes all the modern day comforts and amenities such as Wi-Fi and air conditioning, but none of this has compromised its original charm.  Apart from contemporary furnishings, the place still reflects its original simple beginnings:  colonial shutters, exposed wooden ceiling beams, scalloped gable, and lots of natural light.

This place is ideal for a single or couple who wants to experience living like a local in a New Orleans historic neighborhood.

Have the best of both worlds--experience the laid-back feel of the Uptown District devoid of most tourists,
enjoy nature walks--then take the streetcar to the hustle & bustle of the French Quarter.
Or vice versa.
