Infrared Sauna

Our Sauna System

Our Dynamic sauna is an environmentally-friendly, energy efficient FAR infrared sauna equipped with an MP3 jack speaker system so you can listen to music or a podcast, and has a colored light chromotherapy component.

Infrared vs. Traditional

Infrared Saunas differ from traditional saunas in that they use infrared radiant energy to directly penetrate into the body's tissue to produce perspiration.

Traditional saunas use steam to heat the air inside the sauna, which then heats your body until you begin to perspire. In order for this to be effective, temperatures would need to reach in the upwards of 190 degrees Fahrenheit.

Infrared saunas only need a temperature of up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit to obtain the same effect. This lower temperature makes the environment more tolerable and allows you to breathe easier.

A sauna session should be therapeutic and enjoyable, not unbearably hot.

FAQs

What time of day should I use the sauna (am or pm)?
It is completely up to you and your lifestyle. There is no data showing more of a benefit in the morning or evening.
What should I wear in the sauna? Can I go nude?
Although going nude in the sauna is ideal, we recommend men wear workout or swim trunks and women wear workout shorts and a tank top or sports bra. Be sure to put down towels on the seat to absorb your sweat.
What is the ideal temperature?
An ideal temperature is between 110-130 degrees. However, it depends on what you want to accomplish. In an infrared sauna, you will have a better detoxification at lower temperatures and you will sweat more at higher settings. Remember that infrared is what heals, not sweating. What is important is getting as much infrared as possible.
How long is a typical session? And how often can I take a session?
Most people partake in a 30-45 min session, 3-4 times a week, but it's safe to use everyday at whatever heat suits you best.
Do I need to shower before or after using the sauna?
This is a personal choice. Consider this: if you take a hot/warm shower or bath before using the sauna, you may perspire more and experience more comfort. And you will definitely remove dirt, dry skin, lotion or residues which could hinder proper sweating.  After the session, you may simply wipe down your perspiration, or rinse it all with a quick cold shower.
Does infrared technology interfere with implants (metal, silicone, etc.)?
Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna.
Is it safe to keep an electronic device (tablet, phone, etc) inside the sauna in the heat?
Electronic devices are safe in the heat of the sauna, however please keep the device as close to bench level as possible. The heating panel on the bench (behind the calf) are purposefully at a lower wattage. This is a safety precaution to prevent discomfort or burns on the back of the legs.  If they are warm to the touch, then they are functioning properly. At bench level, your device is safe.
What are the benefits of infrared sauna?
The penetrating infrared light will promote natural healing, provide passive cardiovascular conditioning, retrain the body to relax and improve skin condition.  Perhaps the greatest benefit of infrared sauna is that it can detox toxins that are released from fat cells by the penetrating light and heat. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
- Pain relief from Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Relaxing muscle spasms
- Increases blood circulation
- Clears rashes, acne
- Reduces cellulite
- Removes toxins and mineral waste
- Reduces stress and fatigue
- Enhances skin tone
What are Infrared rays?
Infrared is the band of light we perceive as heat. We cannot see this band of light with the naked eye, but we can feel it in the form of heat. Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Infrared rays heat your body without having to heat the air in-between. This process is called conversion.
The infrared is divided into 3 segments by wavelengths measured in microns: near infrared: 0.76-1.5microns; middle infrared: 1.5-5.6 microns; and far infrared: 5.6-1000 microns. Among these segments, only far infrared penetrates organic substances such as the human body two to three inches so that the warming effect is very uniform.
Are infrared rays safe?
Infrared rays are not only safe but also highly beneficial to our bodies on a cellular level. Health professionals have used infrared heat lamps for decades to treat muscle and joint problems. In hospital baby care units, incubators are often equipped with infrared heating systems to keep newborn babies warm.
